Meet our Directors
Mr. Terrence Kenny, a WHS graduate, rejoined his alma mater in 2023 as the Head Band Director. With a career that began in Redfield, SD, Mr. Kenny established a thriving band program and revitalized the school’s jazz band. His six-year tenure there set the stage for his next role in Madison, SD, where he developed a deep passion for the marching arts. Under his leadership, the program experienced strong growth in both size and skill during his two years directing the bands.
Our Director
Nick Lange is the Washington High School Assistant Band Director. As a graduate of Lincoln High School and South Dakota State University, Mr. Lange has been in the Sioux Falls area his whole life. Washington High School is the start of Mr. Lange’s teaching career and he is excited to give back to the community that he grew up in through teaching and sharing music. He is passionate about all things music in and out of band. Outside of teaching Mr. Lange enjoys supporting local music events, playing video games, and brewing loose leaf tea.
